Caring Ministries

Caring Ministry Team: In 2015 we were pleased to begin an intentional caring ministry team here at Hope Church. Lead by Julie Farman, MSW we pair up a trained team member with those who may be homebound, in rehabilitation or are with long term health issues. If you would like to volunteer or know of someone who needs a partner, please contact Julie Farman at jfarman@comcast.net

Prayer Shawl: Some five years ago a few woman gathered together and wanted to do something for those who were struggling with grief or serious health concerns. They had heard of an idea called Prayer Shawls and so our ministry began. People knit or crochet while praying at home and then gather together once a month on the first Tuesday at 10:00 am to share, knit, crochet and pray together. These Prayer Shawls are then given to members, friends and even strangers as a reminder of God’s warmth and surrounding love. The prayers are not held in the yarn we ask that each person be praying for the receiver, whoever he or she is (it is not usually know) that they feel God’s presence. The Shawl is then delivered and all who receive them are touched by love and care. If you are interested in helping with this powerful ministry please contact the office and they will relay the message: office@hopechurchonthehill.com
